Welcome to Wednesday and to my blog! I am happy you are here :)
Today I have a couple polishes to show you. The first is a KBShimmer from their Summer 2013 Collection. This is Grayscale.

Grayscale is KBShimmer's unique take on the black and white glitter trend. The reason I say "unique" is because they also included gray pieces in the mix. The various shapes and sizes make this polish so fun and the base color possibilities are endless. Have I mentioned how much I love Grey?
This is only one coat of Grayscale and as you can see, the glitter is abundant. I had no problem getting various shapes, colors, and sizes on the brush and I appreciated the thin clear base. Sometimes the base is so thick in glitter toppers that it almost gets in the way when you are trying to capture and place the glitter. That didn't happen in this case :)
The bright green base I layered Grayscale over is Lime Crime Pastelchio. Lime Crime describes Pastelchio as a bright pastel chartreuse. I don't find it as yellowy as chartreuse...I would call it a bright lime green.
When I made my first Lime Crime order, I was the most excited about this polish. I have been soooo into green polish lately and couldn't wait to wear such a bright green. My experience with the two Lime Crime polishes I have tried (this and Peaches <3 Cream) is that they are very opaque. Almost a little too thick...making them a little more difficult to apply. I shouldn't complain though, it's great to have cremes that are opaque in one coat!
I was a little annoyed when I went to the Lime Crime site today...they increased the price of their nail polish. When I purchased this and Peaches <3 Cream, they were $5.99/bottle. Now they are $8.00/bottle. Not sure if they changed the formula or packaging (I hope not - I LOVE the packaging), but it would be nice to know why there was such a jump in price. I don't mind paying $8 for a polish that I will enjoy, but it's hard to justify paying a couple dollars more for the exact same thing.
KBShimmer sells most of their polishes for $8.75. Some are listed at $4.50!

DeleteThis is just gorgeous! I love lime green and black together. I don't have anything by Lime Crime, but it's weird about the price jump...at least OPI just inches theirs up 50 cents at a time. :D
