Antique Nails ft. Butter London Dosh and Jamberry Nails

Hello Again.  I hope you had a great weekend.  I went to a party for my brother on Saturday and got to see a bunch of relatives that I haven't seen since Christmas.  My brother graduated with a Doctorate in Psychology and is moving to Germany for 2 years.  We are so proud of him:)  We also brought the girls to Despicable Me 2.  It was such a cute movie....I still like the first one better though.

Now, on to my nails.  This reminds me of an antique look, given the shade of green and the design of the Jamberry Shield.  This is Butter London Dosh.

Butter London describes Dosh as a "molten metallic apple-green, shot through with gold".

Dosh applied very easily in two coats. It's such a unique green and I appreciate that. I have nothing else like it.

I thought I would jazz it up a bit with a Jamberry Nail Shield.  I received this in a sample sheet from Kelly Baas at Ooh La La Polish.  Kelly no longer sells Jamberry and I haven't worked with anyone new yet; thus, I don't have a referral for you. If you go to the Jamberry Website, you'll be able to find a list of consultants.

I was lucky enough to find Dosh at Nordstrom Rack for $6.75.  I couldn't pass it up as I love green polish and I love the shimmery metallic formula of polishes like this.  I was happy to add it to my collection:)

Have you found any good deals lately?  I'm trying not to buy polish, but it's hard to ignore a great deal!

Have a wonderful Monday!

  3. Wow...I've always thought Dosh looked rather awful, but it's really pretty! And I love the accent...the whole look is so 1973. :) Great job!!

  6. I'll admit it, I was worried at first that Dosh would be a lighter, more shimmery version of Trendsetter. Thankfully, Dosh is unusually gorgeous and looks lovely on you! :D

    1. Ah, don't say that! LOL. "Unusually Gorgeous" is a great way to describe it ;)

  7. This is so creative and fun! I so admire your risky color choices. Despicable Me 2 looks pretty cute :) I've been seeing the minion thingies all over, lol. Congrats to your brother! So cool. And wow, so much work....

    1. Thank you:) Nope, my mom made tons of cupcakes - she makes a bunch of different flavors and everyone has a fun time fighting over which is the best! I can't decide between the Pineapple Upside Down Cupcake or the Lemonade!

  9. Dear Essie Rae, I am happy you got to see your loved ones. I am so excited to see my folks next month for the first time in years! I know how much it means. So good for you!!

: D Ok the real reason I am here is your nails, color choice, combination etc. Everything here is absolute perfection. Nuff said.

I was supposed to be an Expat in England for two years. I was an EXPaT, for 3.5 years in England. I never wanted to go, then I was not ready to return back home. An expat understands culture shock coming and going. If there is anything I can help with in terms of how to deal, I have done it both ways, but not as shocky as his. GERMAN TOO? I only had to learn the Queens ENGLISH. I struggled a little with that too.

So because I am a little British flavored, I know what Dosh is. Do you know what the word Dosh means? Well, the hint is that it is a perfect polish to represent a fiver. See you later for a pint down the pub sometime, mate! We can talk about how we love to spend all our dosh on Posh Polish!!! <3

    1. Thanks for your comment:) Nope, didn't know what Dosh meant. I know most of the Butter Londons have meanings that I don't understand - I shall look it up:) I'm excited for you to see your parents - exciting!

  11. I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS!!! :-D I seriously don't understand my sudden penchant for greens, but this one is super pretty, and I can't believe the price you got it at! LUCKY. But I'm happy you did, since you're trying so hard to be on a no-buy. :-) I haven't been a big fan of the nail shields, but this design is so TOTALLY right up my alley! I also thought of a 70's sofa, rather like one we used to have, actually. :-P
Sounds like you had a great weekend! Congrats to your brother - it was all I could do to finish a bachelor's degree; can't even imagine a doctorate!! *shudders
I saw Despicable Me 2 last week and agree with you - very cute, and definitely some great humor & lines I'll be quoting, but the original was better. :-)

    1. Yep, thought of a sofa too! LOL. Technically, I did buy this before my no-buy, so I am still on the right track. But I was trying to cut down at the time, but couldn't pass it up. Maybe my love for greens is rubbing off on you! I feel like with movies, the original is always the best:) Except for Austin Powers...I loved the 3rd one!

    2. Ahhh! Well then, it's all good! ;-) HUGE props to you for sticking with your no-buy...I'm contemplating one because of all the $$$ I'm going to be spending on gas over the next few weeks (driving 2 hrs 2-3 times a week or more to be the assistant to the director - my friend Michelle - who is directing the musical Fiddler on the Roof). It's awesome to be a part of it, but YIKES. :-/
Haha, yes the green bug has bit me too, I guess! You might fall outta your chair here, but I've never seen any of the Austin Powers movies... *gasp :-P

  12. Hi Essie, what a perfect combo!!! Love it :-) Dosh suits you so well and what a great find!!! You are so good restricting yourself from buying polish - I yet have to work on my discipline to decide on a no-buy ;-P!!!

    1. Thank you. It's actually easier than I thought. I think because I have so many polishes, there doesn't seem to be many other colors I think I "need". Except the ones on my wishlist:)

  13. Yay congrats to your brother! It takes such a long time to get a doctorate, so I can see why are you so proud of him. :) This is a really cute combo! I love Dosh... it's a really fun green, and it look lovely on you! :)
