Guest Post from Melissa at Lacquer Reverie ft. Layla Queen Bordeaux

I have two more guest posts for you and then hopefully I will be back in full force.  I have missed blogging so much:(
This beauty is from Melissa at Lacquer Reverie.  I have gotten to know Melissa quite well since she started her blog.  Her blog is one of those that I actually read, word-for-word.  She is so funny, witty, and is such a brilliant writer.  This is one of my favorite posts from her...it seriously made me LOL.  If you start reading her blog; you will be hooked, I'm sure of it.  You can learn some random/fun facts about her here.  Melissa has turned out to be a great friend and I am so thankful for her.  Thank you Melissa!

Hey everybody! My name is Melissa, and I run a humble blog called Lacquer Reverie.  I have always loved nail polish, but my love turned into a full-blown obsession a little over a year ago.  I didn't know that nail polish blogs even existed, but then I stumbled upon Essie Rae's...and the descent into madness began.  Essie recently encouraged me to get into blogging, and so here I am.  Right now, I feel a bit like a drooling super fan who somehow ended up front and center on her favorite rock star's stage.  Because make no mistake, Essie IS a rock star! :)  Yikes!  I'd better get on with the post before my coach turns back into a pumpkin!

Today I would like to show you one of the very first ever textured polishes, Layla Softouch Effect 7, also known as Queen Bordeaux...a regal lady indeed!
Layla Softouch Effect 7
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the brand, Layla is an Italian company that makes several different polish finishes.  The Softouch Effect line came out last year before the current explosion of textured polishes.  When applied, it dries to a leathery matte finish.  Queen Bordeaux also has a gold metallic shimmer that you can just make out on the nail.

I wanted to add a bit of sparkle to this.  Oh, who am I kidding?  I wanted to add a LOT of sparkle.  I used Layla Ceramic Effect 55, also known as Space Cowboy.  Space Cowboy is a gorgeous gold glitter that looks beautiful paired with just about anything.
I decided to add top coat to this to see how it affected the texture finish.  It gave it a slightly rubbery feel.  Hmmm...perhaps a faux leather finish?

I purchased both of these at Ulta.  However, I heard just yesterday from the Ulta salesperson that they will no longer be carrying Layla polishes.  So if you get the chance, pick up a Layla before they've left the building!  Layla is also available at Ninja Polish and Harlow & Co.

Layla...you've got me on my knees!!

Thanks so much for reading, and my sincerest thanks to Essie Rae for having me today! :)

Melissa loves her Laylas and these are beautiful.  She was kind enough to send me one called "Butterfly Effect" and I love it. Thanks again Melissa! You are wonderful:)
