I finally found a white I can wear! This is Solitaire from the OPI Bond Girls Liquid Sand Collection.
This is the first textured polish from OPI that I have tried and it's pretty cool. It applied very easily, like all of the textured polishes I have tried - opaque in two coats.
I have always liked the idea of wearing a white polish - clean/polished/bright. The problem I have with white cremes is they make it look like I was bored at work and decided to paint my nails with White-Out. I haven't found one that is wearable. I decided to try Solitaire because I thought it would be a perfect alternative. The textured formula softens the starkness of the white and makes it more wearable. The overall look is cool and clean and seems to brighten up my hands.
Thanks to Liesl from Liesl Loves Pretty Things and Yun from The Polish Hideout for helping me decide to grab this one. Your reviews were spot on!
I hope you are all having a great week so far.

Yay, I'm so glad you like it! And thanks for the shout out :) I agree about white cremes looking too much like whiteout, lol. This looks gorgie on you ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks Liesl!
DeleteI really like that white polish Solitaire. It looks like crushed diamonds or snow on your nails. I know what you mean about the white polish looking like white out on you as I have the same trouble. I found a white shimmer by Orchid that I can wear and it is similar to this one, except that it isn't a textured polish. It either doesn't have a name or it missed getting a label from the manufacturer. But it looks similar to this in all the shimmery goodness. This makes me think of weddings and brides and it looks so pretty on you. I think I might get this one for my first textured polish.
ReplyDeleteYou should, I bet you would love it!
DeleteI've liked this polish every time I've seen it. Looks really classy. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I liked it too right away. I thought to myself "hey, there's a white I can wear!"
DeletePretty white texture! :)
ReplyDelete:) Yes, it is.
DeleteI love the look of this polish! It's so pretty!
ReplyDeleteMe too. Thanks for commenting.
DeleteThis is lovely! I need to own atleast one of these shades!
ReplyDeleteYes, I think you do :)
DeleteEssie this is perfection on you!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I like it too:)
DeleteWow this is beautiful!! It looks great with your skintone too. It's definitely a more fun and more wearable white
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteOOoh this feels so 80s, very alpine ski resort-esque, love it!
ReplyDelete:) Let's not talk about anything to do with snow right now ;)
DeleteThis is probably a dumb question but I'm going to ask anyway...can you feel the texture of this polish with a top coat on?
ReplyDeleteNot a dumb question at all:) I haven't tried a top coat on the OPI textured polishes yet...but I have over the Zoya PixieDusts and no, you can't feel the texture. I used Julep's Polymer Top Coat over the PixieDusts, so you may need 2 coats of regular top coat. So far I have tried the PixieDusts by Zoya, JulieG Gumdrops, and this OPI and I think my favorite textured polishes are the PixieDusts:)
DeleteHi my dear friend, Solitaire looks absolutely stunning on you and you just gave me the much needed inspiration what to slap onto my nails tomorrow. I had to giggle about the part of White-Out on the nails - more often than not I feel the same. I just received the white from Cult Nails and I am curious how this will look on my nails but Solitaire will be on mine tomorrow. Thank you for all the love and friendship you send my way, this is no little but tremendous help you are giving me, you are a wonderful friend and I send you a tight hug xxx
ReplyDeleteHugs right back! I'm so happy to see a comment from you. I can't imagine what you are going through and I soooo wish I was closer so I could be there for you. Take care and enjoy your white nails tomorrow! Talk to you soon <3
DeleteThis polish looks great on you. I love wearing whites that aren't so stark. My favorite is OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. I'm still not convinced on the texture polishes though.
ReplyDeleteI know, I was very skeptical of the textured polishes. One cool thing is that they look beautiful under a top coat, so if you end up not liking the texture, you can always smooth it out with a top coat:)
DeleteSolitaire looks so gorgeous on you! It's just a fantastic polish all around. And thanks a bunch for the shout out... very sweet of you. <3 I know what you mean about white cremes. My favorite non-textured white polish is Zoya Ginessa... it's quite similar to Solitaire - soft, classy, and wearable white... you may like it too. :-)
ReplyDelete~ Yun
You are the second person that has told me about Ginessa. I Googled it and it is really beautiful! Thanks:)
DeleteIt looks lovely on you
ReplyDeleteThis looks great on you!
