Friday Favorite with a Flair!

Welcome to Friday Favorite with a Flair.  If you are new, this is my way of showing some of my favorites that may already exist on my blog.  If you are a blogger, you probably know that you miss some of your favorites because you feel like you need to wear new and exciting polishes for the sake of the blog.  I created this so I am able to wear them...and to spice them up a bit, I try to add a "flair".  Usually my flair is an accent nail or a glitter top coat...perhaps I will try some nail art at some point, but for now, this is it!

My favorite here is NARS Storm Bird.  I was introduced to Storm Bird after Liesl of Liesl Loves Pretty Things posted her swatch here.  As you can see Storm Bird is a beautiful "shark grey".  Shark meaning, blue-grey.

Storm Bird is opaque in two coats.  The brush is a little small which makes it a little more difficult to apply - but I will suck it up because I LOVE this shade.

The accent is Essie Stroke of Brilliance.  It's a beautiful blue glitter and I thought it looked cool over Storm Bird.

If you don't own a grey nail polish, I think you should.  Grey is a must-have in my opinion.  It looks awesome on its own because it looks great with any outfit.  It also works so well under glitter top coats.  It's a neutral without being a stark black or white.  If you are looking for a cheaper grey, check out Pure Ice Kiss Me Here.  I love that one too.

I hope you love this combo as much as I do!  Have a great weekend:)

  1. Wow great grey color! Totally agree that a grey neutral is wonderful to have in a collection. I love putting glitter on top of these colors too.

  8. These two polishes look so great together. I like to see when bloggers have a favorite polish they use more than once. It really does help to know what polishes are worth keeping around.

    1. What's the link up all about? (i don't see anything on there explaining it) Is it just a thing to link friday blog posts?

    2. Yes, you need to try it! You just go to the site and put your name and link and email and everyone is suppose to click on the rest of the links. Just a way to promote your blog and get your name out there:) Try it next Friday!

  13. Love the combo! I don't have the Nars but have a couple others really close if not dups for it - cannot wait to try them with my Stroke of Brilliance which is a fav topper of mine but I had been defaulting to putting it over off white and also some dusty lavenders

  14. What topcoat do you use? In all of your pictures your nails are always so shiny. I have tried a few topcoats that had good reviews on them that were all shiny but nothing compared to how shiny yours are.
