Zoya PixieDust Galaxy Nails

I know what you are thinking...."stick with your usual swatches girl"...but I have always been impressed by the "galaxy nails" out there and thought the PixieDusts would work great because they are so sparkly and look like twinkling stars:)
Galaxy Nails Zoya PixieDust Cult Nails Time Traveler OPI crown Me Already
I started with Cult Nails Time Traveler, a dark and very opaque navy blue (one coat).  Then I splotted (word?)  Zoya PixieDusts in Liberty and Miranda on random parts of the nail.  And this is where things started to go wrong...I read on some tutorials that you need to add a silver glitter.  The first silver glitter that came to mind was OPI Crown Me Already.  Two problems with this, 1.  Mine is clumpy and dried out (didn't know this) and the glitters didn't evenly coat my nails...heck, I barely got any; and B. the big glitters in it don't look right.  You can see one on my thumb...maybe that can be the moon???  I finished with Zoya's Polymer Top Coat.  It didn't turn out quite like I pictured in my head, but I thought I'd show you anyway.  If you are a nail artist, perhaps you can use these PixieDusts in fun and unique ways!

So there you go...a bit of nail art on iHeartPrettyPolish.  Have you tried galaxy nails yet?

Have a great Sunday!

  4. YAYAYAYAY!!! You went outside your comfort zone & did a mani including nail art! :-D "I'm like a proud momma!" (Izzie, Grey's Anatomy)

I think it looks fabulous - very galaxy. This kind of mani isn't SUPPOSED to be perfect, so don't overthink it ;-) It's good to mix swatches with art (although your swatches could very well be considered art!)

Great Inspiration and I hope there will be more nailart on your Blog, you are so creative <3
