Model City Sheena is a Punk Rocker Review/Swatches

I hope you all had a great weekend.  It's still really cold in Minnesota; so we had to stay indoors, for the most part.  I went to a movie (that's my other hobby - I go by myself for a little "me time" most weekends).  I went to The Call with Halle Berry.  My-my that was intense!  Enough about me though, on to the polish!
This is Sheena is a Punk Rocker from Model City Polish

Sheena is a Punk Rocker is described as a black jelly base with bright pink dots, fine silver glitter, and fine silver holographic glitter.  I layered it over Orly Liquid Vinyl for maximum opacity.
Sheena is a Punk Rocker
This is one layer of Sheena is a Punk Rocker and I love the look.  I appreciate the small amount of pink glitter in one coat, so I think that would be my favorite way to wear it.  You can check out the other swatches on the Model City site that show more layers.

I thought the photo below captured a great closeup and brought out some of the holographic glitter in the unfocused nails.  And I would like to add that the holographic glitter is very apparent in person.

Being a Reality TV Junkie, I wanted to point out that this polish reminds me of Sheena from Vanderpump Rules.  Not only because her name is Sheena, but I think she would totally rock this nail look....stylish and sassy:)  (I don't think this polish was inspired by her though...)

Where to Find Model City Polish:

This is a mini version of Sheena is a Punk Rocker.  You may purchase the mini for $4 or the full size for $8.00.

  1. Wow, this is INTENSE. I love it. And, Essie Rae...wear it with this sweater. Always. ;) (great combo!)

Thanks for the head's up about The Call. I'll be looking for it to come to On Demand. LOL. I do everything I can to steer clear of movie theatres. So much so, that my hubby does as you do: he goes by himself.

    Happy week, darlin'!

  3. Hi Essie, Sheena rocks!!! I absolutely love how you decided to wear it!!! I prefer my black based glitters to be opaque too, somehow black jelly is not my bottle of polish ;-)!!! It is also still cold here in Switzerland, still sporting my dawn jacket and my warmest winter boots :-S!!! Hope that spring will arrive at your door soon xxx

  5. Love the way this looks, especially in the blurred photo where you can see the holo! Black and pink seem to always go good together, and your sweater looks fantastic against this polish. Sheena is a Punk Rocker is one of my favourite Ramones songs, so this makes me happy. :)

    1. Thank you. How about "I Wanna Be Sedated" - I love that one! Especially because it reminds me of Jordan on My So Called Life:)

  6. It actually reminds me of the Tone Loc song, Funky Cold Medina, lolol. This is a cool polish-- it's fun to see round glitters :)

    1. Oh funny. I used to love that song! When we went camping when I was younger, there was a main "lodge" that had a jukebox and I always played Funky Cold Medina on it.

    1. It is fun and relaxing. I love being able to pick my movie, not have to talk to anyone, and to sit and enjoy my popcorn and Diet Pepsi:)

  8. I really like this polish. I used to be a total movie junkie pre-kids. Now my movies are limited to PG and G in general! lol.

    1. You should try to make time to get out and see a movie once in a while. It's so nice.
