Rimmel London Rags to Riches Review/Swatch

I hope I'm not the only Target guest who has trouble ignoring the bright red clearance tag on products....especially nail polish!  I'm probably only saving 10%, but if it has the clearance tag, it suddenly becomes a product that I have always needed and must have now!  That bright red sticker is exactly why I have this nail polish.  This is Rimmel Rags to Riches.
Rimmel Rags to Riches
Rags to Riches is a metallic olive polish and it's such a pretty color.  It applied perfectly in two coats and I love the wide brush, it works very well with the size of my nails.

I didn't even think of St. Patrick's Day when I picked this up, but it really would be a cute shade to wear around that day:)

I noticed on the bottle it says "up to 10 days".  I haven't tested that, but I did wear it all weekend while I was getting ready for my daughter's 6th birthday party - cleaning and decorating her cake - and at the end of the night, it looked just as good as it did when I first applied it.

I only have a few Rimmel polishes with my favorite being "Steel Grey" - a popular purple/greige/Metro Chic/Chanel Particuliere dupe.  I love the brush, the square bottle, and the price tag on these polishes.  I'm not sure why they were on clearance at Target.  I sure hope they didn't discontinue this line!  I'm very happy that I picked this one up, it's such a cool green!

Speaking of saving at Target.  I just have to share how awesome I think the Target Debit Red Card is.  I normally don't sign up for store credit cards, but this is actually a debit card that you link to your personal checking account.  The best part about it is that you save 5% every time you use it.  There is always a running total on your receipt, showing how much you saved so far each year.  We bought a big tv in January and saved $50, just by using the debit card (plus we got free shipping, so it was delivered right to our door).  I went to the store a few days later and the checkout person said "wow, you saved $60 already and it's only January? Impressive".  I'm not sure if that was a compliment!?  Another benefit of having the card is you get free shipping online no matter how much you spend. I also think they taylor the coupons you get at the register to what you normally buy because I always seem to get a coupon for something on my list - or in my head:)  I'm not being paid by Target, (sometimes I think they should pay me) but I just wanted to share this with you if you are like me and do all of your grocery, clothes, home, and electronics shopping there.  If you normally use your debit card, why not use this one and save a buck?   Check it out:)

I hope you all had a great weekend!

    1. :) I should really test it out and see how long it lasts. I usually change my polish to quick, but some of them chip within a day or two for me. Not this one though! Thanks for commenting.

  3. Cool looking shade, there! You wear those olive greens so well :) Last tie we were in Target the cashier asked us if we wanted to sign up for the debit card and I've been invited to so many baby showers lately it might be worth it, lol. Thanks for spelling it all out here. When someone at a store tries to sell me on a new card or something I'm instantly skeptical but coming from you I see it's actually a good deal :)

    1. I know what you are saying. I never sign up for the credit cards and I didn't do the Target one until a friend of mine explained it to me. I wouldn't even listen to the cashier. I loved the fact that it just came out of my checking account rather than having to pay off a credit card each month. It's a very easy way to save a few bucks and surprisingly I haven't found a downside and have had it for a couple years now.

    1. I know, why not save 5% if you are going there anyway? And the always free shipping has worked great if I need to get something if they don't have a certain size in the store.

  5. I totally use the Target card for the same reason!! I know it's only 5% but penny to penny and you save hundreds of dollars. And this polish is gorgeous!!!! Very St. Patrick's day appropriate indeed :)

  7. I am such a sucker for red stickers at Target! And wouldn't you know, I always end up getting rid of that stuff because I buy it impulsively haha. I've considered the Target Debit Card before but always forget to carry my checkbook with me to get it setup. I may have to make a point to do that next time though :)
