I'm back! My nails still aren't quite back to an acceptable length for me, but I can't stay away any longer. I thought I'd show you a fun glitter upon my return. This is Shimmer Polish in Julia.
Julia is described on the Shimmer website as a frosty ice blue. Ice blue is very fitting for me right now because it has been below zero the past few days in Minnesota...brrrrr. I layered Julia over Zoya Song and it works beautifully.
I have been using Revlon Colorstay base coat and top coat and it is really helping with chipping and wear time - I'm very impressed so far.

I have been playing around with the Shimmer polishes I received and have noticed that they are packed full of glitter. You only need one coat to achieve this look. If you would like to wear this alone, two or three coats would make it fully opaque and that isn't very common with glitter nail polishes.
The creator of Shimmer Polish names her polishes after friends and family members. Each polish represents that person whether it is their favorite color, things that are reminiscent of that person, or special requests from them. It's so cool that each of these polishes have a special place in her heart because they are inspired by loved ones.
Another cool thing about this indie polish creator is that she ships internationally. This is very exciting for those of you who aren't in the U.S.
Please visit her website at www.shimmyshimmer.com to check out all of the polishes she has created. They are all available and if you happen to have an idea for a polish that would represent you, she makes custom polishes as well!

DeleteWelcome back dear Essie!!!! This looks lovely on you :-)!!! So far I resisted surfing the Shimmer site - I have to have some restrictions for nailpolish splurges ;-). But right now I find my resistance waning ;-)!!! Thank you for sharing this beauty with us and I could not detect ANYTHING about your nails!!!
ReplyDeleteI try to stay off the sites too - they are so tempting.
DeleteI didn't know she names them after loved ones, that's awesome! Makes for good energy. Song is such a pretty base for so many things. The two look lovely together and your nails look great as always ♥
ReplyDeleteYes, Song does work well. I think I wore that under Dusk too. Thanks for the compliment.
