Here is another Christmas gift from my mom. Remember, a big plus to sharing your blog with your friends and family is they have access to your wish list:)
This is OPI's Mod About You. I have always wanted this, but never picked it up. I always assumed I had a dupe at home...but I don't!
It looks more "bubble gum" pink in these photos than it is in real life. It's more of a cool/lavender pink. The photo below, without direct light, shows the purple hue a bit better. I just LOVE it.
I did have to use 3 coats to get it completely opaque, but it's worth it to me.
I tried to find other pinks in my collection that compare and I couldn't find anything. This looked a bit like Essie Splash of Grenadine, but a few shades lighter. Whenever I would put a pink next to it, it would look very purple. But on its own, most people would say it was pink.
It was fun to wear a springy color for a few days:) I am so happy I got this one and I recommend it if you are looking for a cool toned pink shade.
One more thing. I mentioned in my last post that I have been wearing the Revlon ColorStay Base and Top Coat. I wore this polish all weekend and I don't have one chip. I did dishes, laundry, etc. and still good as new. I am really impressed with them - they work well with my nails.
Thanks again mom for Mod About You! Have a great day.

This color is the first one I absolutely fell in love with and wore non-stop for months on end, if not an entire year. It is so pretty but I couldn't stand the streakiness :/ Maybe I should buy another bottle and give it a second try haha!
ReplyDeleteWell, it's still streaky...but it really is worth the extra coat for me. I love it!
DeleteThis is such a gorgeous color! And it looks great on you!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much.
DeleteBeautiful swatches :) You take the best pictures of cremes ♥ I'm almost ready to sport some pastels. I've been down with a bad bug all weekend and can't seem to muster up the energy to paint my nails, let alone post about it, lol. And besides, I'm still a little bit taken by Posh Bird :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the compliment. I hope you feel better soon and I'm so glad you like Posh Bird!
DeleteAhh - this is a type of colour I've been looking for forever! I always overlooked this shade as I thought I had a dupe at home but you are right it is gorgeous.. Definitely must have this now.. There's me saying I'm going on a no buy (as my llarowe orders arrived today.. Lol) no buy didn't last more than 30 minutes! Hope you are well - your photos get better and better xxxx
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. yes, this one is great and I recommend it. I'm surprised I don't have a dupe! Hope you are well too!
DeleteHi Essie - I have been so looking forward to this post!!! I love it, and oops Mod About You just hopped on my wishlist. I love cool toned pinks more than the pinky-pink ones - this is so totally up my alley!!!! It looks like made for you :-)
ReplyDeleteI love cool tone pinks too. And thanks!
DeleteThis looks absolutely gorgeous on you, so soft and pretty. You captured it beautifully!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much!
DeleteThis looks gorgeous on you!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteI'm not a huge fan of pink of my nails-but this color changed my mind!
ReplyDeleteGood, I highly recommend it:)
DeleteI love this color. I think I'm going to look for it.
ReplyDeleteI think you should:)
DeleteWhat a gorgeous color!
ReplyDeleteYes, it's great!
DeleteI love pinky lavenders so I'm so surprised I've never picked this one up myself. This is just so pretty on you! It looks like Zoya Reagan's younger sister ;)
ReplyDeleteYou are right, I should wear the two together:)
DeleteI love this polish. It is my niece's favorite.
ReplyDeleteOh really? Cool! Thanks for commenting:)
DeleteThis color looks amazing on you
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
DeleteI just love this polish...on my wishlist - I still haven't gotten my hands on it!
ReplyDeleteIt's one of those that are on your wishlist but others seem to jump ahead? It's so easy.
DeleteThis looks so good on you, and it is so shiny!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI've got this one too!! I'd been looking for a perfect, pastel/chalky? creme pink, and I decided this was the one. Maybe it does tend more towards lavender, but I still think it's a good pink. I keep meaning to come up with a mani using Mod About You and a mint creme that I have - they remind me of those awesome, melt in your mouth pastel mints...ya know, the ones that look like Hershey's kisses? Oh, and also, the MOD 50's diners or ice cream shops?? :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful nails, and photos of them! I have a lot to learn yet about shaping and cuticle care. :-/
Ooooh, I bet it would look great with a minty green! mmmmm. You'll have to show it on your blog!
DeleteThat is not Mod About You, can see label of bottle says something else!!
