BadAss Polish America's Team Review and Swatches

I am excited to show you one of the polishes from the new indie line - BadAss Polish.

This is "America's Team" from their "Are You Ready for Some Football" Collection.  America's Team is inspired by the Dallas Cowboys.

BadAss Polish Americas Team

As you can see, America's Team has large and small silver glitter with blue stars mixed in.  This is one coat of the polish, so you will notice that you get lots of silver glitter with just one coat.  As far as the stars go, you will have to fish for those if you want one on every nail.  When I was painting the nail wheel, sometimes I got 1 - 3 stars in one swipe, and sometimes I didn't get any.

When I painted my nails, I painted them all with the silver (and some random stars) and took a toothpick and placed a few more stars on some of the nails (very easy).  I am more of a minimalist, so I wouldn't mind if I didn't have a star on every nail :)

I used Revlon Cherries in the Snow (red) and Zoya Trixie (silver) as a base on my mani.  I wanted to show how versatile this polish is by swatching it over a few other bases on the nail wheel below.

As you can see above, you don't have to use the polish as just a "Dallas Cowboys" polish.  It is beautiful over all sorts of colors.  Also, the silver is a great dupe for OPI Crown Me Already or Essie Set in Stones.

Below is a photo of the packaging you will receive.  I was a little worried when I received my package because I didn't feel any bubble wrap.  I have received broken polishes before, so I was holding my breath while opening the package.  I was pleasantly surprised that all of the polishes were safe and sound in their heavy-duty tube.  They also included a piece of felt in the tube for a little cushion during shipping as well as easy glitter removal.  I already tried it with the glitter I was wearing before this manicure and it worked like a charm...brilliant!

I am sure some of you may not be huge football fans.  I'll watch it with my husband when the Vikings are on, but I'm not a die-hard fan.  What I AM a fan of though, is the reality show Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders "Making the Team".  I am a reality tv junky, and the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders show is one of my favorites.  I actually have my DVR set to new and repeats so I always have old episodes to watch when I am folding laundry or if I run out of other shows.

So what is your favorite NFL team?  I for one love the Tampa Bay Buccaneers because of their colors/uniform.  I would love to see a Buccaneers polish.

I'll let Amy know some of the teams you suggest and hopefully she will put it on her to-do list.  I know she just posted the Vikings polish on her FB. Soooo excited about that one!

  1. Thanks for reviewing Essie! The stars are the tough part about this one as they are heavier than the other glitter. They do take extra care (and patience!) when playing them. One thing that I found that helps a little is storing it upside down...which you could use the tube for. I've also had times in my testing where I would get too many stars on the brush. The toothpick as a tool is genius!! Looking forward to your other reviews!

    1. Good idea storing it upside down. I don't have a problem at all with fewer stars. And the toothpick worked great. Awesome polish - I wouldn't change a thing.

  2. I would like to see a Steelers polish...I am a huge football fan. But I think it would be great to see college colors too. My favorite college team is the Pittsburgh Panthers and their colors are navy and gold. I bet that would look super pretty!

On the nail wheel shot, what are the sage green and grey colors?? They are the two that are to the left of the top one (around 11 o clockish.)

    1. Ah, the Panthers would look awesome! I will let her know:)

Sage Green is OPI Thanks A WindMillion. The grey to the right of that is Pure Ice Kiss Me Here and the grey on the bottom right is Nars Storm Bird.

Thanks for your suggestions for the polishes - great ideas.

    2. That's funny! I have both Thanks a Windmillion and Kiss Me Here. Why do they look so much nicer in your photos?! I do not have Storm Bird...yet anyway.

    1. Yes, the toothpick worked great. Sometimes there was a star on the stick of the brush and I just grabbed them off of it with the toothpick:)

  5. Hi Essie, a stunner of a polish!!!! In Switzerland Football is not really prominent - we have a more or less unnoticed league, I don't know scratch about the rules but of course news of Super Bowl makes it to our shores as well. Swiss are fanatics when it comes to Soccer though and the local team is big. It's colors are also red and blue so this is fitting for me as well ;-). I would love to see photos of the glitter remover and how it works - is it just like a normal polish remover?

    1. It's actually just a piece of felt - you can also buy it as craft stores. Then you just soak it with your normal polish remover and it helps grab the glitter.

    1. Btw I totally spaced mentioning that I'm a Making the Team fan, too, though I haven't seen it for two or three seasons. I like it when an "older" gal passes tryouts because I think I could still go do that, too...if I really wanted to. ;) ;)
