OPI DS Magic Review and Swatch

I have an exciting new addition to my collection - OPI Designer Series "Magic."

I have had OPI DS Temptation on my wish list for quite some time, but it's a little hard to find.  I had a $5 off $10 purchase at Ulta today and I consider it a sin not to use it ;-)  I was browsing the nail polish section (of course) and DS Magic slapped me in the face.  I grabbed it and my daughter said "that is the most beautiful polish I have ever seen!"  I had to agree and decided it was going home with me.

Within minutes of arriving home, I slapped this baby on and the choir started singing.  I grabbed my camera and took about 150 shots.  Not only is it a cloudy/misty day, but this polish seems to be one of those polishes that doesn't like cameras.  There is blue and purple duochrome in it and it's soooo hard to capture in a photo.  I Googled other images and noticed that many of them showed up bright sparkly blue.  Most of my photos looked bright blue as well, but I wasn't going to post those because that's not what it looks like in real life.  The blue is so rich and deep and you can really see the purple mixed in with the naked eye.

I probably should have waited until it was brighter outside, but I just had to share.  I picked the photos that captured it the best and I hope you can see the true beauty of this polish.  If you can't - grab your $5 off coupon and run to Ulta ASAP to see it.  Designer Series polishes are a little more expensive than regular OPI.  I think they are like $12.50???  But with the coupon - or even without, I highly recommend this one.

I hope you have a little more sun in your neck of the woods.

  2. Gorgeous!!! I have DS Magic too but decided to put it in my giveaway because it is so close to Orly's Lunar Eclipse, which I also have, so I though well some else should enjoy it!

  6. Score on using your $5 off coupon on something great like this! Such a beautiful polish. I hate when you want to showcase how beautiful a polish is but you just can't. Thank you for trying your hardest!

    1. Yes, very frustrating. I just keep staring at my nails - they are so cool. I may take it off and put it back on when it starts chipping...

  7. SO pretty! Your girl's got great taste, and your photos are all gorgie, especially that second one. I was in Ulta checking out the DS's because of this post. I didn't leave with anything, though...forgot my coupon. ;p

    1. I did! I've kind of been holding out for Indulgence, the new red-orange. But this is truly something special... So many pretty DS's. How do you think this compares to Zoya Song? I've been thinking I really need that one already, too.

    2. I like this way better than Song. Song is only blue. This is more rich and deep with the purple. If I could choose one, I would choose this one.

  8. It's drop dead gorgeous and suits you SOOO well!!!! Blue takes by far the most space in my Helmers so its easy to imagine that my heart did a little jump when I saw this!!!! I like that you have shown us those wonderful pictures despite the missing sun - like this it loooks as if the polish would glow from within!!! I am Swiss living in Switzerland: weather report: grey, dull, murky, wet :-P

    1. Yes, it totally has a glow from within. It's like there are little lights in my nails - even without the sun.
