I am excited to attend a bachelorette party tonight - it has been a while. I am 35 and almost all of my friends are married and have been since we were in our 20's. I'm so happy for her, she deserves all the happiness in the world. We were asked to wear black tops and some sort of red accent. Of course, the first thing I thought of was my nails...
I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to pull out China Glaze Ruby Pumps. I have always loved this polish and forget to wear it. It gets lost in the shuffle...especially because I don't wear red much. For my accent nail, I chose Orly Liquid Vinyl.
I really like the way this manicure turned out. I like the sparkle of the red and the way it contrasts with the black creme.
This was 4 coats of the China Glaze and 3 coats of the Orly. I don't remember Ruby Pumps being that sheer, but the end result is beautiful.
And off I go to celebrate with great friends:)

Gorgeous manicure Essie! I love the red and black like that, it's fantastic. I don't think I've ever had RP be that sheer, I wonder if it somehow settled a bit.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Well maybe I didn't shake it enough. I really don't remember it being like that either??? Hmmm.
DeleteYay!! Sexy nails! :) Have so much fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I had fun :)
DeleteSimple and smashing!!!! Ruby Pumps experiences a similar life in my stash - LOL. Mine is also on the sheer side I have to say but I quite like it this way. But come Christmas time I certainly have an opportunity that will call for it!!!!! :-) Happy partying!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, don't forget. It's worth the 3/4 coats :)
DeleteThis is beautiful. I hope you have fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I had a great time. Although...I was tired by 9:30!
DeleteOh, I hope you have a blast!! Your nails look fabulous. That red is just gorgeous on you and it looks so sharp with that super glossy black. <3
ReplyDeleteThank you. I did have fun but I felt a little old. We ended up going "downtown" and I felt like I could be most of the kids' mom!
DeleteThis is gorgeous! I didn't know Ruby Pumps was so sheer, kinda disappointing, but I stil want to have it in my stash...someday. :P
ReplyDeleteHope you had fun at the party! ;)
I really don't remember it being that sheer. Maybe I didn't shake it enough???
Deletebeautiful manicure! ;)

DeleteLove this combo! So dramatic and stunning!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteNew commenter...great blog! Beautiful mani! I have CG Ruby Pumps, but wear it so infrequently (it chips quickly on me). Hope you had fun on your Girls Night Out!
ReplyDeleteYou know what, it did chip pretty quickly. Oh well. I don't usually wear polish more than one day so chipping isn't too much of a worry for me. Thanks for commenting and welcome!
Deletenow that's a combo!!! I love the dark accent =) and I may be old-fashioned, but you just can never go wrong with red!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I really enjoyed wearing it :)
