Butter London The Old Bill Review

Butter London "The Old Bill" is another gold polish that doesn't look the greatest on me.  I don't know if it's my skin tone or just the fact that I'm just not the biggest fan of gold?

This polish is a really cool color/sheen for those of you who like the metallic gold look.  I would highly recommend it if that is what you are looking for.  The polish is opaque in two coats and it applies evenly without visible brush strokes.

In some of these shots, you can see that the polish shows ridges or unevenness on the nail.  I think this is partly because the polish is so thin, but also because of the metallic finish.  If you are looking for dupes of this polish, check out Revlon Copper Penny.  I believe this is close to Essie Penny Talk as well.

If you are reading this on Cyber Monday, Butter London is on sale at Ulta for Buy 2 Get 1 Free and if you want free shipping with a $25 purchase, use the coupon code "HOLIDAY2012".  I usually only buy Butter London when it is on sale as it is $14/bottle.  But I have been known to make an exception ;-)

Have a great week!

  4. This is gorgeous and it looks great with the sweater color. All of the metallic polishes I have are thin like that, I always thought it was interesting. They're all so thin but yet doesn't take more than one or two coats to be opaque.

  7. I love this polish on you. But I know what you mean, this color can look stunning one moment and totally weird the next depending on the light <3

    1. Exactly. There were times during the day that it looked pretty good - but others I felt like peeling it off...

  8. I like the way it looks in your photos, but I think personal perception of color affects the way you think it looks on you.

  9. I agree with Shannon, I like how it looks on you but I'm the same with gold!! I just don't think it looks good on me because I don't like the actual color!
