If you are anything like me, you are constantly looking at colors around you and thinking about how they compare to certain nail polishes or how cool they would look as a nail polish. I do this often when I see cars. For example, there is a car I see around town that looks like it was painted with China Glaze Cha Cha Cha.
This manicure is inspired by my Chi Flat Iron (I know, random). As soon as I saw the flat iron in the store, I knew it was the one for me. I just love the colors and how they look together. And here they are...
I love how the flat iron has the cream shades with the metallic silver contrast. It looks so cool.
When I was getting this post ready, I realized I didn't have a cream purple. The next day I ran to Sally's to grab Orly Charged Up. Actually, I was looking for China Glaze Grape Pop, but this one is close enough:)
I realize this manicure probably isn't appropriate for a corporate setting and most would probably say not appropriate for a 35 year old; but I thought it was fun to show on my blog and wear on Saturday just hanging out at home.
I love purple so much, I was surprised I didn't have a straight up purple cream polish. What are some of your favorite deep purple cream shades?
Also, is there something that keeps popping up in your life that reminds you of a nail polish??

Such a happy manicure! I have things that remind me of polish all the time actually. I'm kind of of the school that I don't really care if the manicure is bright, mismatched, or blingy it's always appropriate ;) I say rock it loud and proud!
ReplyDeleteGreat plan!
DeleteWho says 35 year olds can't wear colour! I'm 30 and wear SO much colour, and tbh I don't care as I would look drab and boring in brown/neutral tones!
ReplyDeleteOh, I ALWAYS wear color, but a skittles mani is a bit extreme for my line of work. I'll continue to wear bright colors, but this many at the same time will probably have to stay on the weekends:)
DeleteLOVE this! And wow, that Chi iron is absolutely beautiful. Mine is just the plain old black one. I am constantly looking and stuff and trying to find a polish that matches =)
ReplyDeleteYes, I love this Chi:)
DeletePurple cremes are hard to come by really, I have charged up and grape pop I know, but I'm not sure what others I have. Oh Milani Orchidia is a good one too.
ReplyDeleteI sure wish I had access to Milani in my town...
DeleteI agree with the may not be so appropriate for a corporate setting part, but not at all with the 35 year old part. Growing up doesn't mean you have to be subjected to a life without color! Rock those colored nails :)
ReplyDelete:) Thanks!
DeleteSuch a cute mani, I think anyone can pull off color!
ReplyDeleteYou are correct!
Deletesoooooooooo cute!! loove those colors together so much
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteI love this skittle, looks lovely on you. You are probably better off with Charged Up than with Grape Pop - at least mine is horribly thin and runny. I then splurged on RBL Mismas and it became my favorite purple instantly. Age appropriate: oh bother, I am over 40 and still go all colorful. Since I saw a lady of certainly over 60 sporting a glitter mani that looked incredibly sophisticated I am over this topic. And mind you it was whether in the opera nor on a weekend evening but plain old normal day in public transport.
ReplyDeleteOh, that is awesome!
DeleteWhat a fun manicure!! So much fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks:)
DeleteI love this manicure! The colors are so pretty together. You know I have so many polishes that I often wear a couple of different colors at the same time :).
ReplyDeleteThank you very much. And yes, take full advantage of your stash:)
