Saturday Sweets Shelby's 4th Birthday Cake

For today's Saturday Sweets, I have my daughter Shelby's 4th Birthday Cake
Butterflies flowers birthday cake

Shelby asked for a cake with butterflies and flowers.  As with most of my cakes, I find inspiration online and I saw this one and had to try it.

The bottom tier is chocolate with Oreo Cookie mousse filling and the top tier is vanilla with the same filling.  The cake is covered with buttercream with fondant accents.  Most of these pictures were taken with my old camera, so you can't see as much detail...but this had edible sparkles on the top that looked really pretty in real life.

The design of this cake was inspired by "GWO90" on CakeCentral.

Today my oldest (April 7) is in a play (Aladdin), so we are excited to see it.  She has 2 shows today and I will be going to both of them:)  I hope you have a great weekend!

    1. Yep, this is her first play. We just got home 9:15 p.m. and she is exhausted. She did so well and I was so proud watching her up on stage. I felt old!

  6. Another great creation! I hope you had fun at the play. Aladdin is one of my favorite movies. I don't know if the play is anything like the movie though. I am sure your daughter did great!

    1. Thanks. The play went great. She has lots of fun. It was slightly different than the movie, but it was still good. I agree, I always loved that movie.
