Yep, still on my nail break....break and I have another awesome guest post for you. Steph at Imperfectly Painted heard my cry/whine for help on a FB group and came to my rescue.
I owe a ton to Steph. I read her blog for quite a while before deciding to take the plunge and do a blog myself. She was my inspiration. Steph somehow found my blog shortly after I started and gave me a shout-out on Twitter and Facebook. I was floored! To have someone you look up to; recognize your work, is the greatest gift. Thank you so much Steph and I continue to admire your work as well as the positive influence you have on many bloggers and individuals in this community.
Hey there! This is Steph from Imperfectly Painted. I love Essie’s blog, and I’m excited I get to do a guest post for her. Thank you!
While we a nearing fall, I like to ease into my fall nail polish colors. I am quick to get over seasonal colors. When mid-August comes around I’m so ready to ditch the neons and brights, however, I don’t like to go straight into vampy colors. I like to pick middle of the road colors that are really universal to any season, that way I don’t get my fill of fall colors too fast! This was a recent manicure I did using a-england Avalon and Milani Twinkle as an accent.
I love Avalon by a-england. It’s a rich, deep, and shimmery royal purple. The color is a perfect in-between purple. It’s not too light and it’s not too dark. I wanted to spice things up a bit so I did an accent nail. I started with a black creme base using Milani Black Swift, and topped it off with 2 coats of Milani Twinkle. Twinkle is dense mixture of royal purple and royal blue glitters in a clear base. I love this combination, and this is definitely one of my favorite manicures I did this month. I love the combination of colors and the added sparkle. How could someone not love sparkle? I also highly recommend both Milani and a-england nail polishes.
