Revlon Whimsical

I've had Revlon Whimsical on my wish list since it started appearing online as a dupe for Deborah Lippmann's Glitter in the Air.  I have been known to purchase the real thing when it comes to high end vs. drugstore, but when the dupe is almost spot on after much research, I tend to gravitate toward the lower priced polish.  This was the case with Revlon Whimsical.

Revlon Nail Polish
I'm sure everyone is familiar with this - I'm a tad late picking it up.  It has a sheer light bluish/green base with large and small pink and blue glitter.  I think whimsical is a perfect name for it.  I do like the more opaque base, so I chose to layer it over OPI What's with the Cattitude.

I also played with other bases below...

That was fun playing with the nail wheel and seeing how the glitter polish looks over other bases.  I need to do this more often:)

Thanks for checking in!

  2. I like it swatched over many colors too! I especially like it over Pedal Faster Suzi :) I have this color but don't wear it because I didn't think to use it as a topcoat!

  3. Oh it looks great the way you've layered it! I bought Whimsical a while back with the intention to wear it for my Easter mani....I tried it over a few different polishes but I just couldn't get it to look right, I couldn't get the glitters the way I wanted them. Now that I have a bit more experience and have gotten a bit better at doing my nails, I will have to re-visit Whimsical and see if I can get it to look nice on my nails. :)

    1. Yes, it was a bit of a pain to get adequate amounts of glitter on each nail. I forgot to mention that in my post...

  4. I love all the different swatches! I like Whimsical layered over light blue the best, but it's fun seeing them over colors beyond the norm, like that pink.

  5. This is a polish that everyone needs in their collection :) I also wore mine over a blue creme and I loved how it looked! I'll have to try it over a light pink because your swatch is gorgeous!

    1. Yep, it's a staple - especially because it's such a great dupe of a high end polish.

  6. I love your nail wheel swatches! I do this all of the time, but it is a great idea to post them all to show people what you decided not to do! (I may use it sometime if that is okay with you?)
