"U" you ask??? U is for ugly and I think this polish is so ugly that it works:) Butter London Wallis is an antique, split pea soup, golden shimmery, greenish.
Beautiful wouldn't describe it...nor pretty. I think interesting and unique would describe it best. I wouldn't have bought this 3+ years ago, but now that I am learning to appreciate the odd and unique polishes out there, I just had to add this to my collection. As you may have heard me say before, I will NEVER own China Glaze Trendsetter...that is where I draw the line with ugly nail polish. Nope, won't do it. I don't even like Scrangie's swatch of it and she can make anything look beautiful. I should check out her Wallis swatch...
One more factor that could make this manicure appear ugly is that I broke my middle nail:( I actually broke the middle one on the right hand too? wtf? I would normally take a few days off of blogging until it grows back a bit, but I can't get behind on this challenge. So here ya go, ugly nails and ugly polish.
Do you own Wallis?

I was certain this would be your "W" challenge choice! Haha can't wait to see what you come up with for that day. Wallis is a unique polish, that's for sure. Not my style but looks great on others!
ReplyDelete:) We shall see huh?
DeleteI like Wallis AND Trenddsetter! lol great choice, I love this post! Oh boy i know what you mean about the middle finger, mine always breaks. ALWAYS! only that one too. gah!
ReplyDeleteWhy is that about the middle finger? Is it cuz it's longer than the rest? I can never get it the right shape either. Do you have Trendsetter? If so, post it for me:)
DeleteThis is gorgeous!! I love ugly-pretty colors like this. I recently sold this on my last blog sale because I was going through an "i-hate-butter-london" phase because the polishes always chip on my but now I'm regretting it because it really is such a lovely color.
ReplyDeleteYep, ugly-pretty is a perfect way to describe it!
DeleteI love Wallis! It was the first Butter London nail polish I bought. :) I also love Trendsetter, haha. I guess I love weird greenish colored polishes.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see your swatch of Trendsetter...perhaps you could change my mind!!!
DeleteWallis is such a unique color! I don't know how often I would wear this, but it is interesting lol!
ReplyDeleteYes, I think I'll wear it again in the Fall....it's sortof a Fall color??
DeleteI don't think I would call it ugly but unique is definitely a good word for it! I still go back and forth on this one. It does look lovely on you!
ReplyDeleteThanks:)
DeleteHahaha!! I've been trying to put an "ugly" spin on my U, too! Whoa. Just googled Trendsetter. That's bad. That's a good place to draw the line. Btw, there's a new Illamasqua that looks rather awful, too, on account of the rubbery texture, I think. It looks like fake melted cheese. :p I think Wallis looks pretty cool, especially in your photo; it's kind of the color of absinthe. I totally want to go out and find the ugliest color I can (on the cheap, lol) and wear that. :D
ReplyDeleteEww, I'll have to google that Illamasqua color. Good luck finding that ugly polish you are looking for:)
DeleteWallis is probably my all-time favorite Butter London color. It's the first one I ever bought. I love antique gold/bronzes like this.
ReplyDeleteReally? Cool - I knew some people would like it!
Deletehaha you broke your two FU fingernails!! and dbl LOL for the "Ugly" as your challenge letter haha =)) oh you gave me some laughs this morning =)))
ReplyDeleteI kinda like the shimmer in Wallis, it makes it look interesting. But I'm with you, I will never ever wear Trendsetter! bleeeh... looks like a day-old vomit!!
I know, wtf??
DeleteDefinitely a pretty-ugly polish, but sometimes these polishes make great bases for glitter toppers too, because it sends it into truly unique category! Sorry about your nail :-(
ReplyDeleteAhh, I never think of adding a glitter to Wallis....that should be interesting:)
DeleteI tried this on at Nordstrom yesterday and seriously almost bought it. I love colors like this! But instead I got Dodgy Barnett, Trustafarian, and Bluey.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a Nordstrom near me...so you can actually try them right in the store? That's pretty cool.
DeleteYeah, I can't do the baby-poop polishes!
ReplyDeleteLOL, and baby-poop this is!
