Welcome to Friday Favorites with a Flair. This week's favorite is Revlon Facets of Fuchsia. I bought this after searching for a dupe of Deborah Lippmann Bad Romance. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE having certain high end polishes; as a collector, I feel like I am allowed a few splurges. But when there is a dupe that is pretty much dead on, I'll go for the dupe. That's my cheapness rearing its ugly head:)
I have only tried this a few times because I couldn't find a good base color...until now! I was going through my collection looking for a dark purple - but it had to be the same type of purple - redish/fuchsia. I have lots of purples, but one stood out as a perfect base - Zoya Yasmeen (below)
Yasmeen is such a pretty purple. Here is Zoya's description "Dark blue-toned purple base with very strong red-toned medium purple
shimmer and hints of gold duochrome. The ultimate complex purple for
maximum drama" I love Yasmeen so I guess you could say my Friday Favorite is both Yasmeen and Facets of Fuchsia!
Revlon Facets of Fuchsia was a limited edition polish, but Revlon now has it in its permanent line and it goes by the name of Scandalous.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Hi. Thanks for sharing! I love this look. Do I need the zoya base? Why did you use it? Or can I just buy & use the revlon on its own? Thanks in advance.
ReplyDeleteYou could do the Revlon on its own, but I feel like the contrast with the shimmer is better with a darker base. If you just use the Revlon on its own, the base is a kindof dark grey and not as opaque. A black or any dark purple would work for a base. Good luck!
DeleteHi I found the exact revlon polish but mine is called Scandalous. Do you know why try would have diff names? It's exact with dark grey base..??? #761
DeleteYes, it's the same polish. It originally came out as limited edition with the name Facets of Fuchsia and then they re-released it with the name Scandalous. They have done that with a few of their polishes....but yep, same color:)
DeleteBEAUUUTIFUL!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks:)
DeleteI have The Revlon, and you're gonna make me bust it out!! :-) Beautiful job!
ReplyDeleteThat happens to me all the time! I forgot about some of my polishes.
DeleteNice combo, it has so much depth
ReplyDeleteThank you. I'm glad I finally found a base for this polish:)
DeleteWow, Essie, this is a really pretty combo! I have FoF and I've always put it over black... This looks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI wear it over black, too. Makes the purple glitter really pop! :)
DeleteVery beautiful combo!
ReplyDeleteOh look, two more polishes I need to buy! ;-) GORGEOUS! I love it!
ReplyDeleteWhoa! I had no idea that Revlon had another dupe for Bad Romance. I have the other Revlon dupe, Scandalous. Now I want to buy this one and compare all three- lol!
ReplyDeleteActually, this is the same as Scandalous. It came out before and then they discontinued it and then brought it back with the Scandalous name. So it's the same:)
DeleteI just bought this. My son painted his toes with it immediately. #punkfamily lo l
